We have started to finialise our editing of the clip and we will complete the begininng and the ending of the clip on saturday and monday. On Saturday we will go to the town hall and shoot the entrance and on Monday we will shoot the assembly scene.

on friday 4th december, we we went down to the studio to film the scenes of the female characters. we took our posters as props and put them on the wall behind the characters to get them in full view. also during our lesson on friday we had the whole class sing the chorus for us. we done this in various different shots.

On 3rd december our group went to the o2 arena in greenwhich to film other members of the public to participate in lipsyncing the chorus of our song. we had managed to get two people to do it for us. after 5 minutes we were asked by the security of o2 arena to evacuate the arena as we did not have permission from the venue manager to film in the arena.

Filming at Town Hall

On Thursday 26th November 2009 we went to the studio to film our coursework in Shadwell town hall, during the day we managed to film alot of the musiv video.We had numerous camera shots such as:
1.Close ups
2.High angle
3.Low angle
4.Pan
5.Zoom in/Zoom out

The costume/props : we had our actors wear different style of clothing to represent people from different backgrounds.Eg Akram was dressed to look like a indie/rockstar with the glasses,shirt and jeans, Rezaul was dressed as a grime artist.The props that we used was glasses,mic and hat.
One of the problems we had during the day was that the camera wasnt charged properly, so we had to keep looking for a plug to connect the camera to.This limited us as to were we could place the camera and what we could do with it.

We have also booked another day to complete the filming for our media coursework.

21st November 2009 - Saturday

On Saturday we went to the studio based in Shadwell Town Hall, which we made a booking for 3 hours to do our Media Studies Filming, but when we arrived the person we made the booking with did not come as he ony works on weekdays so the other guy booked us in on Thursday at 2 p.m. we gave a deposit of £15 and when we go on the day we pay another £15. Due to bad weather we did not do any filming.

The studio situated in shadwell town hall is an ideal location for our music video. the reason why it is ideal to use a studio is because the majority of the scenes are shot in a studio.

November 20th 2009

today we are printing out the lyrics and printing off the letter of consent which we will give to people who will appear in the music video. with the lyrics on paper we would go around the college asking people to lip sync to our song.

I Got Soul - Young Soul Rebels

We have chosen a charity video called 'I've Got Soul' we have also researched similar types of video e.g. Band Aids charity song, and world cup songs, we have also started making our storyboards and we should start filming by friday.

Evaluation

The previous task done by the group was to complete the sweeding of a short clip from a music video called ‘No Air’ – by Chris Brown & Jordin Sparks. As the original clip was recorded over we had to create the clip all over again, which meant we had lost time on editing. Our main task was to construct an identical video from the help of the storyboard which was created by another group in the class. Everyone in the group took part in doing the camera work as well as editing.

I chose to upload these types of videos as because it covers the genre of music we want to use. these videos represent the artist and the song in many ways, most common one being wealth. It also has really good camera shots and uses a variety of them. i have uploaded a few videos that represent the genre we have chosen. these music videos are hip hop and r&b.

I chose to upload this video because it covers the genre of music we want to use. Its very colourful and very uptempo. It also has really good camera shots and uses a variety of them. It makes the story line of the film more interesting as most Bollywood songs tend to be first part a Bollywood movie.The generic conventions of a Bollywood movie is that the editing consists of very fast cuts from actor to actress.Also another generic convention with the costume is that the actors have numerous costume changes during one song.

So our Genre is Bollywood and i have looked at many videos from that genre. These Videos gave me many ideas which we could incorporate into our own videos and gave us a starting point as to what to do in our video, these are some of the Bollywood videos i have watched to gain ideas from.
